Roger Byam
Roger began his home building and remodeling apprenticeship in the mid 1980’s in Boston’s Metro West region. He then moved to Cape Cod in the Spring of 1991 to find work framing houses. At that time, framing was my real passion and was employed by companies that almost 30 yrs later are still thriving to this day. Notably Benger Construction, Brennick Construction and Mac Kenzie Brothers Construction. From these builders I learned how to build a house from the exterior frame through the interior finish
By the late 90’s I had obtained my Massachusetts State Builders License and began making the transition from working for contractors to taking on projects of my own. During the 2000’s the bulk of my work was home additions and relatively large remodeling projects that included all the phases of residential construction frame through finish. A large amount of these projects included complete door and window replacement, new siding, exterior trim, new roofs, decks, and basement finishing . Over the past decade I have also spent a great deal of time on projects that involve removing and replacing structural decay from the foundation sills all the way to the homes roofline , including solving roof, skylight, and chimney leak issues. Due to the excessive moisture our homes are subjected to here almost year round, these types of repair projects have become the bulk of my workload in the most recent years, and will continue to be for the foreseeable future. Roger Byam specializes in renovating and remodeling the exterior shell of our New England style homes. Here on Cape Cod we have an incredibly harsh ocean environment that, over the years, causes damage to the exterior surfaces of our houses. Roger can fix and repair this damage.
